Channel Metadata Tool · last updated 15 September 2026

1. Scope

Channel Metadata Tool (“the application”) is a personal command-line program operated by one person, Taher Rhouma, on his own computer, and used only on his own YouTube channel. It has no other users. This policy describes what the application accesses, collects, stores, uses and shares.

2. Use of YouTube API Services

The application uses YouTube API Services. Your use of it is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and information handled through those services is additionally governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

3. What the application accesses

After the operator signs in with his own Google Account and grants consent, the application requests a single OAuth scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl, and uses it to:

It accesses no other channel and no other person's account. It does not request access to viewer data, analytics, comments, subscriber identities, or any Google service other than YouTube.

4. What is collected and stored

The application stores two things, both as plain files in its own folder on the operator's computer:

Nothing else is retained. Video metadata is read, changed and discarded within a single run; no copy is kept. There is no database, no log of personal information, and no analytics.

5. How information is used, processed and shared

Information is used for exactly one purpose: setting metadata on the operator's own videos at his instruction. It is processed only on the operator's own computer and in transit to Google's API endpoints over HTTPS.

Nothing is shared with any third party. There are no analytics providers, no advertising networks, no data brokers and no other recipients. The application transmits data to Google only, and only in order to carry out the operator's instructions on his own channel.

6. Third-party content and advertising

Neither the application nor this website serves advertising, and neither displays content supplied by any third party.

7. Cookies and device-level collection

The application is a local command-line program. It sets no cookies and uses no tracking or device-fingerprinting technology. This website consists of static pages hosted on GitHub Pages; it sets no cookies of its own and runs no scripts or analytics. GitHub, as the host, may record standard server request information, which is covered by GitHub's privacy statement.

8. Retention and deletion

The stored token remains on the operator's computer until it is deleted or revoked. Deleting the token file removes the application's ability to act on the channel.

9. Revoking access

Access granted to the application can be withdrawn at any time from the Google Account permissions page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Revoking it takes effect immediately and the stored token stops working.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address and the date above will be updated.
